What you describe is a bug; the non-audio data should all go to stderr,
not stdout.  However, it works fine for me, using OggEnc v1.0 (libvorbis
1.0) on Gentoo Linux.  My version never says anything about "Encoding
with VBR" anyway.  What version do you use?
