That would be horribly inefficient, really. The granulepos feature is 
basically intended so that you can ensure that the output is the same length 
as the input - which is a nice little advantage over mp3. Although it can be 
used for all sorts of other things, that's not really the primary intent - 
and adding 2 extra offsets to every packet wouldn't exactly help compression.
