...vorbis is doing its own thing here that doesn't require an
elaborate external model and acheives mostly the same results.

So Coding Technologies claims.  CT also calims that 48kbps XM radio is
as good as CD.

Why guess and potentially spawn false memes when you can go and and
determine, authoritatively and empirically?
