Last week I encountered the same problem, I couldn't even find the sources
for icecast2, ices2 and the like. Then I freshmeated and found JRoar.
It is an ogg-streamer written in java. It worked almost instantly, even that
it still is version 0.0.7.

Ok, I had to download j2se from the java-website, but that was something I
wanted to have anyhow.
