No, date is to be ISO8601 IIRC (I'm answering mail offline right now
and don't have my own date doc local ;-)
It is silmultaneously an easy format to use, machine readable, human
readable, and takes into account many things you would not have enven
thought of, like always alphanum-sorting in correct order and partial
date represeantation.
