We will hopefully have application/ogg as a generic asynchronous
transfer type for Ogg files in not too long. I have coordinated
this with the IETF area coordinator, just some writeup and stuff to be
done there.
Regarding audio/vorbis, this will take some additional time, because this
transport encoding has to be specified so that it also works with RTP,
which is in a state of flux right now. This is heavily dependent on the
work being done by the IceCast people. The main issue is that there is no
suggestions regarding how codebooks should be transferred without loss at
the beginning of a vorbis RTP frame. (Correct me if I'm wrong Jack.)
