Can't do that, because you can't currently pass in arbitrary CFLAGS to the
compilation proces...  Jack has promised to slog through the backlog of
patches this weekend, though.

Besides, do you really want to have to tell everyone to "use -xCC" (or
whatever) who wants to compile with a non-gcc compiler?  :-)
