DJGPP (www.delorie.com/djgpp) is a DOS version of GCC, mingw32 a Win32
version of GCC. mingw32 is not the same as cygwin, cygwin is basically
an entire unix environment built on top of windows in which you can
build unix-like programs, while mingw32 uses the gcc compiler to create
"real" win32 native apps.
I hope that that's still accurate, I quit using Windows over a year ago
so my knowledge isn't really up to date I fear.
