Actually, it was laziness on my part that I didn't collect them all and
put them in a single mail.  Sorry about that.

The Sun C compiler barfs on // without the help of any additional flags.

Yes, // is now permissable in C, but it will take the vendor compilers a
while to catch up.  As I understand it, this is a gcc-ism that has been
pushed into the C standard.
