Really, I did think you were... but there's some amount of obligatory 
butt-sniffing that has to go on between two engineering groups before they 
feel comfortable around one another.

There are ~ten regular contributors, but only between one and three full-time
on the project at a time right now.  And we are a bit more elitist than other
more widely authored open source projects because I've watched too many
projects sink into 'too many cooks spoil the broth'.  The fact is I don't want
every beginning C programmer (and a good number of fairly experienced, but not
as experienced as they are enthusiastic programmers) contributing code.  We
have quality standards [and expensive country club memberships ;-] to maintain.
