No, problem, use sox:

$ sox test1.wav test2.wav
sox: Premature EOF on .wav input file
$

repairs the header (according to xmms). For all who don't have
sox, you can get it from

http://www.unix-ag.uni-hannover.de/~ingo/vorbis-test/test1.wav.bz2
