Hi:
My 2c on this issue is that it's really up to a system's admin to decide
who has access to what. This includes audio hardware and programs that
access it. I have a group for my audio devices, and I would only expect
people in that group to have access to it. Now, if some admin decides to
set ogg123 SUID root, then they take on the responsibilities of such an
action. So tighten it if you want, but you ultimately can't save people
from themselves, and if they leave their system open to some form of
security hole as a result then it's their own stupidity that's to blame.
