[vorbis-dev] patents and separate entropy coding

The courts are equally fair to everyone. They're just more fair to those who
make an effort to legitimize their actions in a legal context.

The patent system was devised to protect patent holders. You'll certainly be
fighting an uphill battle against them if this goes to court, and they have
a little castle at the top with arrow slits in the walls.

Neither do I. I was saying:

1) They can sue anytime...
2) ...irrespective of if they have legitimate claims...
3) ...and they even can win if they have no real claims.
