I'll try that, but, assuming this is some sort of memory reference
problem, it might not occur without the Java VM running.

No, I'm actually developing under Linux (Red Hat 7.0 w/updates). I've got
the Windows stuff in there because I know Aaron Porter will be trying to
get this to work under Windows as well. That's a good note on the "rb"
thing, though. I'll add that in so that it doesn't bite Aaron.
