I'm not familiar with the term. You are using integer lifting for your
wavelets, right?

That paper is:

Christopher M. Brislawn, "Classification of Nonexpansive Symmetric
Extension Transforms for Multirate Filter Banks"

I also suggest:

Christopher M. Brislawn, "Preservation of Subband Symmetry in Multirate
Signal Coding"

Both are available from http://www.mathsoft.com/wavelets.html in the
"FBI Wavelet Fingerprint Compression Standard" section.

That page also has _tons_ of papers on using wavelets for image
analysis.
