fwiw, when i copy the old system libvorbisidec.so.1.0.2 to a local
directory and preload it via LD_LIBRARY_PATH or LD_PRELOAD, i stay with
the slower pace (39s).  So maybe i'm just not replacing the system
library properly when i try it that way?
