[Tremor] Tremor no-byte

I've heard for several times now that tremor-no-byte has several
advantages compared to tremor-lowmem on TI C5000 DSPs. Nevertheless a
diff shows that only 3 files have noticeable differences: codebook.c,
floor1.c and bitwise.c. I compared the files but cannot see any benefit
over the tremor-lowmem branch. Is it possible, that the no-byte's
repository is not up-to-date?
