More at: http://nhwcodec.blogspot.com/ I am also working on -l9 quality setting, but it is not ready for now, notably as x265 (HEVC) starts to excel at these very high compression ratios... For the other compression ratios, I prefer the NHW Project! Your opinion would be very welcome! Any help for very high compression is also welcome! Many thanks! This setting is notably better, more precision.I find it now very competitive, and I prefer it to x265 (HEVC).-And we can still save 2KB per .nhw compressed file.- More at: http://nhwcodec.blogspot.com/ On the other hand, -l9 quality setting is quite complicated, for now I have quite big quality drop... I am certainly missing something... Any idea is very welcome! Many thanks again! Cheers, Raphael -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Else I would like to have your opinion on how to have more visibility, audience for the NHW Project.I suspect that big companies don't even know that the NHW Project exists or they didn't test it because it seems too "amateur" for them... But again according to my tests, I find the NHW Project visually more pleasant than x265 (HEVC), it is royalty-free and it is at least 50x faster than x265 (optimized HEVC)! Somebody told me that it would be good if I could present the NHW Project at conferences like FOMS 2018, FOSDEM, VideoLAN Dev Days,... Unfortunately I won't be able to attend these conferences myself, but if some of you, who have good knowledge of codecs domain, want to become member of the NHW Project and want to make a presentation of the codec at these conferences, it would be great!!! For info, if our presentation, work is selected, these conferences pay the airline ticket and some also the accomodation. Short, if you think you can help the NHW Project, do not hesitate to show up! Many thanks! Cheers, Raphael -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... This setting still has a good neatness, which I find visually pleasant... And also don't forget that we can still save 2KB per .nhw compressed file. And paq8px_v167 is a great compressor!!! I thought we could save 1.5KB-2KB in average per .nhw compressed file, and in fact with paq8px_v167, we can save 2.3KB-2.4KB in average!!! On a .nhw file that is 15KB at -l9 very high compression quality setting, 2.4KB saving represents 16% less space! Great! So now if you want to know the compressibility of a .nhw file, you can use paq8px_v167 to have a very good idea!
