The file has a substantial initial A/V offset (almost 1.5 seconds).
Mplayer requires about eight seconds of playback before it finally
locks on. y4oi can sync it, though it has to pad alot of black frames
at the start.

My guess is that ffmpeg sees that initial offset and assumes it too
big to deal with for some reason, or decides not to use the transport
PTS at all.
