I'll provide links to some of the material. Hopefully others can
provide their samples.
Here are some examples where the audio and video are not in sync. With
the exception of Kung Fu Panda, these came from my local television.
Kung Fu Panda came from a DVD.
http://aws.bluehome.net/panda.vob
http://aws.bluehome.net/bb_2.mpg
http://aws.bluehome.net/leno_small.mpg
Anyone & everyone: Feel free to download away: Bandwidth is not an
issue.
Some have said that it is necessary to manually set the input and
output framerates for videos such as panda.vob, but doing that doesn't
always work as the file bb_2.mpg will show. I can also provide an
example of a file reports the correct framerate but still gets out of
sync later on (leno_small.mpg.) It seems to get out of sync around the
10 minute mark for some reason.
Really, I think that ffmpeg2theora should be able to correctly work
with these files (report the correct framerate, and keep lip-sync as
well as any DVD player could.) For whatever it's worth, HandBrake has
no issue with any of these files, despite them also using components
from the FFmpeg project.
I'm sure that I could provide more files if needed.
