I have successfully used WMP 11 to play and embed video using the Xiph 
DirectShow oggcodecs in Internet Explorer 8.0 and by the means of
Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin 
(http://port25.technet.com/pages/windows-media-player-firefox-plugin-download.aspx)
also in Mozilla Firefox 3.5.2 and Opera 9.64
