[theora] CVS decoder(?) broken + gentoo compilation problem

just to confirm. same here.
i am not able to encode files that would decode with
player_example/splayer.

Encoded by Xiph.Org libTheora I 20040228 3 2 0
new encoded files are played back, but the image is broken, 
strange colors, some movements are visible.

files encoded with Xiph.Org libTheora I 20031026 3 2 0
will not play. player_example will quit with
Error parsing Theora stream headers; corrupt stream?
