[theora-dev] libtheora 1.2.0alpha1 release

All,

I'm pleased to announce the first alpha release of the new 1.2
libtheora, codename 'ptalarbvorm'. This is the reference
implementation of the Ogg Theora video codec, hosted at Xiph.Org.

Things are settling down with the new code and we're ready for wider
testing toward an eventual 1.2.x stable release. So please download
it, try it with your applications and other code, and give us
feedback.

Significant portions of the code have been rewritten, improving both
performance and quality. New in this release is assembly optimization
for the ARM platform (including routings for armv6, neon, edsp and
media extensions) and the TI C64x+ DSP chips, including the dsp in the
popular mobile OMAP platform. There have also been a number of bug
fixes.
