[theora-dev] how to use player_example...?

i want to study the theora codec so
i am trying to use the "player_example.c" file in the example directory to
test the theora codec. i am using ubuntu.

but that file can not be compiled with "gcc player_example.c".
it ask for several other files such as "vorbis/codec.h, SDL.h".

i have no idea about those files, pls help me to use the player_example
......?
