I also think this would be a good idea. For a strange reason subversion 
has problems with my ISP (resulting in "400: Bad request" errors). At 
the time being I´m doing something like

# wget -r -np http://svn.xiph.org/trunk/theora/

which is obviously far from optimal ;-)
