        I'm going to try the pitch fix that Johns suggested. Then I'll
send you the binary plugin module for xine (much easier than sending you
the source).

        I defected to xine several months ago. However, I'm evaluating
whether it would be worth adding VP3 directly to ffmpeg's libavcodec
(http://ffmpeg.sf.net). libavcodec is used by both xine and MPlayer for
decoding a number of DCT/MC based video codecs and features a number of
CPU-specific optimizations to facilitate encoding and decoding such
formats.
