[speex-dev] Speex and TTY?

Hi,

Deaf people use a special "text telephone" called a TTY to communicate
over the phone. TTYs in the US and UK employ Baudot, a 5-bit FSK
protocol that uses 1300Hz and 1500Hz tones at 45 or 50 bps.

1. Could encoding/decoding these tones work over Speex in VoIP?
2. Is anyone (meaning "are YOU") interested in R&D in this direction?
Satisfaction in addressing real human needs and a remote chance of
earning lunch money are guaranteed.

Please reply off-list.
