Is it possible that its working an a data track? IIRC, I
had similar experiences also with CDs that contain music
and then a data track for PC interaction. The data track
was always the last one and paranoia wouldn't distinguish
it from the last audio track and would go very slow then
too. If the CD is in perfect condition, as you hinted,
then I can't think of anything else.
