<p>No special parameters.  The kernel obviously needs to be compiled with
support for the Promise controllers.  My CD-ROM is the master on the
second Promise port (ide3), and its recognized as hdg.  (Note that
the ide-cd driver won't recognize this drive; I have to use ide-scsi
to use it.)
