Hi guys,
The scsi errors are solved, thanks for the help.
However, the odd song is taking extremely long times to rip. I use abcde
with cdparanoia, and launch a cd rip by simply running 'abcde' from the
command line. I have ripped a selection of 10 cds. Of those, 3 have had
songs which seemingly refuse to rip. I end up stopping the rip after 3
or 4 days. The sector counter does move forward, just very very slowly.
Examples of songs that wont rip would be track 13 (battle of evermore)
on Led Zep Remasters. Or track 16 (man that you fear) on Marilyn Manson
Antichrist Superstar.
95% of all other songs rip within minutes and sound perfect.
Below is the songs status when I stopped it. It had taken 3 full 24
hours days to get from sector 244838 to 249154, the V popped up when 248
clicked over to 249. The thing is, a couple of the CDs I could prolly
write off to being scratched, but this cd is brand new.
Grabbing track 13: Led Zeppelin / The Battle of Evermore...
<snip>
Ripping from sector 244838 (track 13 [0:00.00])
to sector 271192 (track 13 [5:51.29])
outputting to /home/ogg/abcde.d411160f/track13.wav
(== PROGRESS == [---eV> | 249154 00 ] == :-0 .

[1]+ Stopped abcde
Any ideas? Is there some command line magic I can invoke to cure this?
regards,
T.
