[paranoia] Not the typical `shared libraries' problem...

Greetings all.

I've been using cdparanoia for some time now on this machine, and it
worked fine, until I installed and then recompiled a new kernel last
week.  Now I get the following error:
 
cdparanoia: error while loading shared libraries: cdparanoia: undefined
symbol:
paranoia_read_limited

I have added /usr/local/lib to my ld.so.conf and ran `ldconfig'.  I have
even tried recompiling and re-installing paranoia from the source.  I
don't know what else to try.  Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance for any tips.  I really miss this program!
