[paranoia] Sound card???

Hi!

ince all the members of this mailing list have something to do with
audio (ripping), maybe there is someone who knows also something about
sound cards...

Can anyoune recommend me a sound card to use under Linux?

A friend of mine has got a "Creative Labs 128 PCI ????" and it sounds
quite good as long as he's running WinXX. But with Linux the sound
quality is much less. 

I therefore assume that there are differences between sound cards if
you want to use them with Linux. Or is this a matter of the driver?

Anyway, what product would be a good choise?
