[paranoia] CDparanoia locks my computer

The computer locking can't be due to cdparanoia; it uses kernel interfaces like
anything else.  A lockdown is either a kernel bug (If you want stability, you
*don't* want 2.3.x.  Hell, I won't even 2.2 on the servers I need to trust
quite yet, although it's proving itself over time).

This potentially looks more like a hardware issue, though. Check your hardware 
setup carefully, especially conflicts.
