A general update release of cdparanoia (9.8) is in CVS now and ready
for release soon. This is not a major update, mostly a number of
fixes to blow off bit-rust and patches that have come in over the past
year from users.

Give it a test out of CVS and report any problems you run into. I'll
be releasing it official-like very soon.

General change list:

1) Patch for Kenwood TruX drives (they worked before, but were very slow)

2) Slightly different default read command to alleviate end-of-track
read problems on a number of drives

3) New -z command syntax; option argument to allow a skip after a
user-configurable number of tries

4) Added more possible read commands to autoprobe

5) Support for Linux SCSI Heneric 3.x interface; dropped support for
older (2.0 and previous) kernels

6) Removed autoprobe limitation, so starting a new rip will not
potentially stall in autoprobe until previous rip finishes

7) Segfault fix when device isn't found

8) Proper /devfs detection in 2.2, 2.3 and 2.4, with or without devfsd

9) Patch to allow sample-granulairy offset

10) allow NULL callbacks to be passed to library interface

Happy hacking,

Monty
