For these questions, it might be helpful to have a look at the 
relationships used in MusicBrainz (for music, at least).

See the linked pages, as well.  Unfortunately, the wiki isn't going to 
give you a very good birds-eye overview of the performance roles 
available.  Try browsing the database, too.
