[libcmml-dev] Annodex Foundation

Dear all,

a few of us have got together to start a Foundation around the Annodex technology to gain a more explicit and independent forum for the development of Annodex.

We want to encourage people to take on active roles in the progress of Annodex and be recognized for their work around such things as:
- maintainership of the open source Annodex software packages,
- system administration of the foundation's servers,
- development of Annodex Web pages (yes, annodex.net is in an abysmal state),
- development of the specifications and evolving them into
  internationally accepted standards,
- contribution of Annodex content and HW/servers.

We also want to build a community of people that are interested in the future goals of Annodex.

By subscribing to foundation at lists.annodex.net (e.g. via http://lists.annodex.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/foundation) you can become a founding member of the Foundation and be involved in its shaping. Membership is for free.

Everything is still in flux and if you've got any strong thoughts about the format, goals, and constitution of the foundation, and about who should be in the committee, please voice them on foundation at lists.annodex.net.

We're planning the actual registration of the foundation with the NSW Department of Fair Traiding in Australia for December this year.
