<DIV>Hi, I've just installed Icecast and can't start it...</DIV>
<DIV>Ok, I have Red Hat linux 9.0</DIV>
<DIV>I've downloaded icecast-2.2.0.tar.gz file... I've installed it using:</DIV>
<DIV>.configure</DIV>
<DIV>make</DIV>
<DIV>make install</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Next I've edited - /usr/local/etc/icecast.xml</DIV>
<DIV>then I type the command: <STRONG>icecast - c /usr/local/etc/icecast.xml</STRONG></DIV>
<DIV>and I recieve this message:</DIV>
<DIV>"ERROR: You should not run icecast2 as root</DIV>
<DIV>Use changeowner directive in the config file"</DIV>
<DIV>Well, then i create a user and a password for it... I use: <STRONG>su - username</STRONG></DIV>
<DIV>to switch from root to that username but when I type the same command: <STRONG>icecast - c /usr/local/etc/icecast.xml</STRONG></DIV>
<DIV>I recieve another message:</DIV>
<DIV>FATAL: could not open error logging (/usr/local/var/log/icecast/error.log): Permision denied</DIV>
<DIV>FATAL: could not open access logging (/usr/local/var/log/icecast/access.log): Permision denied</DIV>
<DIV>FATAL: could not start logging</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Please, what do I do wrong here?!</DIV><p>
