You should not set <burst-on-connect> as it is a legacy option. In fact
it does not do anything if set to 1. So... just remove it. :)

This is the part I find more interesting: I heard (in the source code)
about such problems on Windows. But I thought they were largely myths
as I have never seen them.
Would you be willing to run some tests with me regarding that setting?
