Maybe you could set up an SSL tunnel, e.g. with stunnel tool. Then icacast
would connect to the tunnel server and the tunnel server would connect to the
original source. But there could be a problem with a Host header sent by
icecast because it would not match what the real source expects. But if
the source did not care, it could work.
