hi, don't know if there's info esp.on SSL, 

I've just compiled icecast 2.4.4 with SSL-support (well, actually 
it does that by default it seems, as long as libssl is installed on the
system).

The certificate is a "normal" server certificate in PEM format, but it
must include the server key too (which is not so nice...)
I'd recommed LetsEncrypt.
