We have worked hard to implement some new features based on user feedback, such as auto-reconnect and manual input gain adjustment. We?ve also revamped our codebase to give better response, stability and room for future enhancements. For instance, we?ve separated the connection/streaming core (libshout) from the UI and made it a background service. This will give us the ability to easily add things like live editing of metadata during a stream. Current Features: + Streams live audio from microphone or mic/line jack to Icecast + Configurable metadata (Title, Artist) sent to Icecast + Easy sharing of your stream URL + Auto-reconnect + Input gain (input volume) slider + Graphical VU meter with adjustable update interval + Active listener count (current + peak/max) + Broadcast length timer + Supports the open source, patent free Ogg/Opus audio codec + Supports the open source, patent free Ogg/Vorbis audio codec + Configurable Opus + Vorbis quality level settings + Configurable Icecast ?source? username + Configurable number of audio channels (1/Mono, 2/Stereo) + Configurable sample rate (8000, 11025, 16000, 22050, 44100, 48000Hz) + Configurable server port (Under ?Connection?, use SERVER:PORT) + Scan QR Code for auto-configuration + Allows basic testing by using predefined Cool Mic Test Server (CMTS) + Prevents screen + Wi-Fi sleep mode during livestream + Check current Cool Mic -> Android OS permissions + Simple and easy to use interface + 100% Open Source (GPLv3) Android app Google Play Install: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cc.echonet.coolmicapp Github (source code): https://github.com/CoolMicApp/CoolMicApp-Android Cool Mic Website: https://coolmic.net/ IRC: irc.freenode.net #coolmic We're also looking for people interested in helping in the next stages of development, including a built-in listener client, translation to other languages and porting to iOS to name a few things. Please contact if you are interested in becoming part of the project. We hope you enjoy it! Sincerely, Jordan Erickson In cooperation with L?wenfelsen UG. I've installed Libretime (https://github.com/LibreTime/libretime) which user Icecast2 on Ubuntu Server 16.04. I've also developed a mobile application to listen to stream myhost:8000/mount. My problem is when the number of listeners increases up 500 (On live streaming with butt), the application blockes, and I hardly get info from myhost:8000/status-json.xsl. My question is : How shoud I configure my Ubuntu / Icecast / Liquidsoup to allow more than 5000 listeners to listen music without any issue. Thanks. Regards. If you have ADSL you can probably handle 5 listeners maybe 10 on an average service. If you have VDSL increase that to 15 maybe. If you have fibre it might do 25. It all depends on the service provided by your ISP and the condition of the cabling between the local switch and your location. They control how much data you can send and recieve even on " unlomited " Then it depends? on the modem router, and your in house network, although these are less likely problem areas. If you want 5000 listeners you have to send audio to a Streaming Service Provider who has a BIG internet upload capability which costs money. There are some that charge rather low rates for 200-1000 connections because they know that while you pay for capability very few stations have more then one or two listeners on line at any time. I support one that has up to 200 listeners and we may be at 40 or so except when there is some critical news breaking which takes us over the 100. We have a feed for an app and a feed for tunein and a feed for the website. The app has the highest usage On 21/10/18 12:17 AM, Abdelkader BKF wrote: > Hi all, > First of all, thank you for supporting us. > I've installed Libretime (https://github.com/LibreTime/libretime) > which user Icecast2 on Ubuntu Server 16.04. > I've also developed a mobile application to listen to stream > myhost:8000/mount. > My problem is when the number of listeners increases up 500 (On live > streaming with butt), the application blockes, and I hardly get info > from myhost:8000/status-json.xsl. > My question is : How shoud I configure my Ubuntu / Icecast / > Liquidsoup to allow more than 5000 listeners to listen music without > any issue. > > Thanks. > > Regards. > > BKF-Dev > > > _______________________________________________ > Icecast mailing list > Icecast at xiph.org > http://lists.xiph.org/mailman/listinfo/icecast -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... I'm setting up a 2.4.3 win32 relay, but I'm wanting to disable YP listing for the specific relays in the configuration file. Is this possible? The documentation only covers the option for mount points. Does this also work for entries? Or do I just delete the section to prevent it from listing everything? Thanks heaps in advance. The database is relative to Icecast's current working directory. As that depends on what the init script does you can hard control that. Therefore I suggest to use a absolute path for it. e.g.: /etc/icecast/mylisteners I hope that helps! If you don't create them explicitly, the global and default settings will apply. Let me restate this (mostly for general audience and future reference): Every stream that's running through Icecast is on a mountpoint and a entry can be created for it to influence its behaviour! Even static files and XSLT can have a defined to e.g. controll access. Important note: does NOT support the elements of a ! To control the behaviour a corresponding section MUST be used. (Future versions might allow this, 2.4 does however NOT) > Or do I just delete the section to prevent it from listing > everything? You can do that, but selectively setting 0 in each mountpoint you don't want advertized might be preferable. I do have the stream mounted.
