Here you go:

This is a WIP, but tested on the KH Build of IC2.
We have not tested this on the Xiph Build. I don't know if CORS Headers are enabled there.
Here it is running an HE-AAC stream:

There is no metadata yet, but that is coming...
This is sourced with a StreamS HiFi Live Encoder using the commercial Fraunhofer libs (the good stuff).

Hi,

Could you folks suggest a Javascript player that uses Media Source Extensions to play Icecast streams on modern browsers?

Thanks,
ab

Subject: Request - Javascript player using Media Source Extensions Hi,

I was wondering if there is a javascript player that uses Media Source Extensions to play Icecast streams on modern browsers.

Based on my limited research, the following players do not seem to support Icecast streams:
Aurora.js - Icecast does not support HEAD requests, which Aurora.js seems to require.
Shaka - Needs DASH manifests, cannot play off a simple URL. IANAL but MPEG LA seems to have issued a call for patents on DASH.

Please do not suggest Flash players.

Thanks,
ab
