I've been skimming through their source-code, its seems that they are using 
gstreamer's webm muxer plugin. (Note: there's not much to brag about their 
"technology" in this case..)

I suspect that there is work to do to provide a proper header/container for 
each client. Thus, I think that they must start a muxing thread for each 
client. 

In this case, there would be quite some work to do in icecast to support webm 
streaming.
