I still haven't gotten around to troubleshooting why Icecast on my Windows 7 system doesn't support more than one listener, that's a mini project. I did install the shoutcast server on my Windows 7 system and it seems to have no trouble supporting more than one listener. I'll report back if I learn anything new about IceCast. A Google translate reveals this: # greet are nelutu SIA wants an account for the net radio straamint wait reply thank Icecast Looks like he wants an account for streaming. Here's some sort of reply via Google: Nu exist? conturi disponibile aici pentru streaming. Trebuie s? construim un server. v? rug?m s? folosi?i limba englez?, pe aceast? list?. I have attempted to say this in Romanian (via machine translation): There are no accounts available here for streaming. You must build a server. Please use English on this list. Here we're trying to crank IceCast server 2.3.2 (OpenSolaris x86, 2009.06 release) that is receiving stuff from Dark Ice, running on FreeBSD (still). Everything fubar, but at some moment streaming evaporates and socket closed at IceCast side. But I would mention that we've moved server to another ISP, so I still suspect this is not OpenSolaris + IceCast problem. However, if somebody could hint me where to dig, I would be appreciate that! Logs: nothing special, hence asking. Simply socket closed, and that's it. I can not figure out what helps: restarting IceCast or Dark Ice, because it works somewhat random. :( Sometimes restarting IceCast helps to restore streaming, but sometimes not. I am quite puzzled... I've compiled IceCast latest version w/o problems on OpenSolaris. In packages we have 1.x and 2.3.1 versions as well, but effect is exactly same. This makes me wondering that it is nothing to deal with IceCast on OpenSolaris and problem is elsewhere, but, again, if someone would hint me some workarounds or something that could help solve this, I would appreciate that. Anyone, please? Thanks in advance. -- Kind regards, BM Things, that are stupid at the beginning, rarely ends up wisely. I don't try to make icecast serve up anything but what it knows how. It did take me a while to get the crosdomain to work. It basically involved making sure the stream servers and the web server where in the same domain but mapped to different machines. My sertup involves: STREAM.domain - Hosts the flash and crossdomain.xml SS1.domain - The stream and .m3u The trick is to make sure the icecast server sends out the SS1.domain to the flash player so when it looks up the crossdomain on the server with the player on it that the name of hte server is listed ) I had to do it this was cause we have 3 to 5 stream servers to access, and all would need to be accessible with the same player. But having one server you can use a simple webserver on your stream maching if you want to do it that way. Simply the code goes out to your source server, reads the xml, and then relays it on your local server. You can find more information about this by going to: http://xmlrpcflash.mattism.com/proxy_info.php Or if you wanted to just try a simple one, you can create a file called proxy.php and paste this code into it: and set your xml source to: http://your.domain.com?source=http://this.isyoursource.com:8000/stats.xml Now i have an advanced script that manages my stats.xml with admin password, etc.. but this is the jist of it. ~DocNasty Hiya, My current set up is I have a web server set up on a separate server to serve the flash and crossdomain.xml.
