ok, well that confirms my initial thought that the YP server isn't even 
being contacted.

can you verfiy that you can connect to dir.xiph.org from the machine 
running icecast ? i.e. wget http://dir.xiph.org/cgi-bin/yp-cgi

usually, the message you are getting the yp_add(Unknown) means that it 
couldn't even contact the yp server at all.

anything else special network-wise in your setup ?
