They should just work if the clients (wmp, real) have support for the metadata 
- and since you say that it works if you rebroadcast via peercast, this 
suggests that they _do_ have support.

Perhaps it's a bug in icecast2?

Would you be able to get network traces of what a) WMP or realone request from 
the server, and b) what peercast returns that makes it work properly? With 
that, I can look at what changes are needed to make icecast2 send stuff that 
they can comprehend.

I don't have a copy of wmp or realone, so I can't do this myself.
