This is extremely unlikely - if you're using the same settings with darkice,
it should sound the same (unless darkice is ignoring some of your settings),
they both use precisely the same encoding library.
As a general note - setting maximum bitrate to the same as nominal is not a
particularly good idea, it'll seriously hurt quality to do so.
