That is one place where it would be useful,  the other from an ices
point of view is if your reading from playlist with high q encoded files
and you have several instances that state the for example same q, q1 and
q0.  Instead of reencoding you just peel to the appropriate level but
it's not clear on how that is to be achieved yet.
