Is that streaming files with a playlist or streaming sound from the line-in of 
the soundcard. I have Slackware 8.1 too. Streaming file from a playlist works 
fine, but streaming from the soundcard input (ices-live.xml) doesn't. Ices 
gives a segmentation fault and the kernel gives some panic messages. See 
under the 'Compiling Ices' thread. Since you also have Slackware 8.1 I wonder 
whether it works with your system.
