[icecast] icecast hosting

The rate I might be off.. as in 80kb but I was hit and I was about
to go with a $1/stream.

What I have to take in consideration is the "charge" per gigabyte
transfer/month. If "I/MY" server goes over 60gigs per month or 100
I have to pay. If that happens I have to charge more per stream
1-2$ or so. I am putting a server on a OC3 / OC 12 line. I will
eventually try to test see it's capacity and give out free relay streams
or dirt cheap.

No comes the point.. only few hours.. etc..etc.. But if you were
to buy streams, you buy 30, 20 or 10 streams and it's always there
for you. They will take that in consideration that you will stream
20 streams x 24 hours x days in the month and @ etc bit rate. I would
reserve that and anything more than 20 users the extra will get kicked
or unconnected. If you are up and running from the source (home / cable
modem
dsl modem) that is up to you ...

right now I am on T-x (1 , 2 and 3) and the bandwidth sucks.. I can only
stream
@ 80Kbs or less and cannot handle that many because there are about 40
other
virtual sites and clients using the bandwidth. I might be one of very
very few
that actually uses the bandwidth to broadcast.

Go here: http://www.digitallyimported.com/ and talk to forum, talk to
webmaster
or check out what they use, how much they pay. They are the biggest
radio
station on shoutcast servers. They are *huge*

I noticed that there is no money in "web" hosting but there is more in
Radio
broadcasting and more revenue. I might turn my new upcomming server
into a
broadcasting server.
